I recently attended the ASM Heat Treat Conference in Novi, MI – in Detroit with a client of ours Nanmac Inc. It was great to spend some time with our colleagues from Nanmac and to talk about modeling the induction heating process with those attending the show. We visited with vendors from the US, China, and Turkey to just name a few locations.
The process of modeling induction heating can be rather involved. But, once the process is clearly understood and the model has been developed, the results can be invaluable. One can examine feed rates, power supply frequency, temperature profiles, etc. as they relate to the heat treat process. The modeling process allows us to examine heating rates, depth of heating, maximum temperatures, rates of cooling, etc. so that the surface heat treatment you desire can be obtained.
